welcome
to ifsam
briefly, ifsam is the international federation of scholarly associations
of management (ifsam) is an association of associations designed to
foster the development of international scholarly activities and the
understanding of management practices. in a period when business and
culture are globalizing, ifsam is an international window through
which researchers in management from around the world can become better
known among the academic communities of other countries.
regional conferences (brussels, 1995 and 1997; shanghai 1997) and
the world congresses (tokyo, 1992; dallas, 1994; paris, 1996; madrid
1998; montreal 2000; gold coast, australia, 2002; scandinavia, 2004
and berlin, germany 2006) provide researchers with valuable opportunities
to present papers to international audiences. ifsam is a multicultural
international organization. to respect different traditions, papers
are selected generally according to the criteria of the author's country.
the ifsam conferences and congresses are always international in scope,
attracting scholars from around the world.
ifsam is an international network which facilitates the exchange of
information, teaching opportunities and students. ifsam encourages
networking activities. ifsam is an observation post which provides
a good lookout on current developments in the field of management
research and education around the world. the world congresses help
to achieve this goal. the communication is primarily in english, but
usually there are tracks in other major languages too.
ifsam relies on the efforts of volunteers. practically all of its
resources are used to the direct benefit of its members to organize
conferences, funding of research projects and perhaps in due course
sponsoring a journal and other activities.
ifsam is a young organization which helps academics to broaden their
fields of activity and diversify their interests to better understand
management and business policies and practices. these are becoming
more diverse and complex in the context of globalization.
